It's time to show your cards, and read what the other poets brought to the table. The Linky widget included with this posting is a fine way to leave a link to your poem inspired by the 'Liu' Chang-ch'ing' prompt, or any other poem you want to share. Comments are available if Linky doesn't work for you, or you want to add encouraging remarks, or any other remarks.
Saturday night, right after 'Hockey Night in Canada' (go Oilers again, a hex on Calgary), I'll put up the next Totally Optional Prompt. And, thanks for your support.

I had trouble with this one until I looked outside at the weather, realized it was going to be this way for months, and came up with Useless Days.
I'm a musician, so I especially enjoyed this musical prompt. It inspired me to write a musical duo -- one four-liner and one limerick: Musical Duo
Here's mine - http://craftygreenpoet.blogspot.com/2007/10/poetic-collage.html
This came to me in a flash--although the problem had been on my mind for a long time. I look forward to seeing old and new friends. Thanks for Thursday TOP.

i must say the prompts are really stretching,, it is extremely difficult for me to find inspiration in something i am evidently to simple to understand....
A part of the each of the previous comments click for me too, but it was the music and the introductory comments that were the spur. btw, is the "h" silent when used in translation?
This prompt made me think of the power of a musician to touch our souls:
King of the Muses
I will try once more....

You still do make it clear.....
my poem
I didn't get my poem finished, so changed tack: poetry postcards. For Halloween. See the link for more. If you'd rather read my last few poetry blog pieces, just go to stoney moss and take a look for ...deb.
Your Word Verification is a waste of my time.....Also I had to make my own link anyway....

actually I would like to thank the person who came up with this prompt.
I found it really difficult, and something which made me think a lot.
not sure if I made any sense of it, but anyway here is my attempt

I'm enjoying these prompts so far. I think, in particular, because they have not been from English writing authors. They have a different feel that leads off in interesting directions.
In addition to the Mr. Linky link, here's mine: Pergola Romance
I wrote this one in creative writing class this week as a prompt to "the touch of a favorite thing or person." It is about my daughter and how I used to put her to sleep 22 years ago.
Bit of stretched link for my poem. And I seem to have entered twice. Same poem, though...
Here's mine for this week. Thanks!
Measure of Blue
Yeah! really enjoyed this one...
Hope you like the outcome!
My contribution for this week is now up. I expected to be led in a different direction with this prompt, but I ended up with a reflection on my own experience playing a stringed instrument: Worst Player in the Orchestra
Thanks for the lovely prompt!
Here is a simple verse with images.
All
I'm in. Though it's only the content of the poem, not its mood, that I responded to. (For once I turn down an excuse to be nostalgic and maudlin!)
I really appreciate your using the Linky Widget. Makes my posting so much easier. Thanks!
I'm late, but here. I found a wi-fi signal at the airport this morning and can't wait to catch up with everyone else's take on this when I get home.
