Request For Poems

It's time to throw your hat in the ring, and see what the other poets have on their minds. The Linky widget included with this posting is a fine way to leave a link to your poem inspired by the 'Horse' prompt, or any other poem you want to share. Comments are available if Linky doesn't work for you, or you want to add encouraging remarks, or any other remarks.

Poetry Collections
Poets, such as you, can create a collection of their works in a word processor, such as MS Word, save the document and use pdf Online to convert it to pdf format. A pdf file is half the file size, can be accessed with a free Adobe Acrobat reader and is an easy way to distribute your works to interested readers. Over in the sidebar is information on sharing available poetry collections.

Saturday night, right after 'Hockey Night in Canada', I'll put up the next Totally Optional Prompt. And, thanks for your support.

Once again, I want to thank you for the inspiration. I found this one extra challenging, & my husband and I actually got into a bit of an argument over the meaning of Horse. But it all worked out okay in the end. :)
A Horse Of A Different Color

I didn't follow the prompt this week, but I have two new poems to share:

The First One

As the Drylands Burn

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Good things happen in Omaha, I guess! I thought of a "...different color" theme but it was the pretext for the prompt that grabbed my attention: straightforward view of the ordinary. That and irony.

I pulled up one I'd written in 2002 which included a reference to my horse. I love Kooser!

Is this the right place for Horse poemtypeprosey thing. I didn't even know there was a prompt for Horse and wrote by synchronicity alone a piece called Horses and then popped by and saw a prompt for Horses so that just proves the world is indeed a wondrous place full of miracles and mysteries.

I really like Kooser's work. I'm working on a "horse" type poem, but in the meantime, yellow gloves grabbed my attention...

I wrote a poem that I hope honors the spirit of Kooser's work.

Thanks for the prompt!

I was caught by the first line:
"In its stall stands the 19th century"
and so time and personal history worked its way into my short poem this week.

The closest to horse I could get was cat. The late Dave, in fact.

I like Kooser, too. I read his "The Poetry Home Repair Manual" recently. Recommended rading.

There's a link to his "American Life in Poetry" project on my post.

Thanks for the great pormpt. Good Thursday, to you all.

This is my first time visiting here, but I recognize a lot of names from other memes.

Here's a poem, kind of a sad one, that hasn't been seen yet.

I like Kooser's simplicity. Here's a simple piece I wrote.

I thought it might be easier if I sent this poem as a link.

I didn't write a new one for this prompt, but I had one that "presents a straightforward view of the ordinary" (which, actually, most of mine do...):

While Napping in Alaska on a Sunday in October

Now -- do you want us to link in both place, on the main page and in comments?

Because I just did...

Here's mine. A response to last week's prompt but I only finished it this week.

I started 3 poems before something clicked but enjoyed thinking about this prompt.

I'm so computer illiterate. How do I get that TOP icon onto my blog? I clicked where it said to, but just got the address without the pic. Thanks!

I am totally enjoying this site and all the inspiring poems.

I wrote in honor of a girl who loves horses, but not about them.

My poem has nothing to do with this week's prompt. But thanks for posting a prompt that challenged my mind.
