A snapshot poem, not in response to this week's prompt, but a kind of Poetic Statement.
I'm in. Nice prompt, Tiel!
This poem is evocative, I think. The subject evoked a response all these many years ago, which is why my muse dug it up out of the recesses. Comments/critique welcome! Skin and Ribs Dog
I just can't seem to do this right.
my poem
Hope I did it right.
my other poem
This prompt made me think a lot. I had trouble with coming at a poem by naming where I was going first. I ended up with a piece I think is evocative, but I'm going to have to spend some more time with the idea of what I am trying to accomplish with some of my poems - with their intent.
Of course, I find most of my pieces only reveal their intent, their direction once they are nearly finished.
My poem isn't evocative. It's not even a poem, it's another offer for postcard-poetry written around the theme of eating.
I am traveling and finding internet connections difficult. So please excuse my belated reading of yall (in deference to my Texas trip!)
I don't know if this poem is evocative, but it's the only one I've had time to write this week...thanks for letting me participate!
This one is not a poem, but a photo essay about writing poems. Another Poetic Statement.
The one about the house! animus semper manendi
This was a very interesting prompt. I didn't end up writing a poem that directly mirrored the emotions of the prompt poems, but wrote one instead that is intended to evoke a different, but quite specific, feeling: On Waking
Finally got mine posted. Every Tuesday and Thursday I make my kids do journal writing. I give them a prompt, put some instrumental music on, and we write. Today I "cheated" by writing this poem instead of follwing the prompt.
What I came up with is a total departure from my usual style. It was an idea that popped into my mind just as I was falling asleep last night so I thought I'd go with it.
I like this autolink feature. I suggest that Firefox user download the Cooliris extension. Together with the list of links it is easy to review the poems without having to open each file. :-)
