Request for Poems: Song Lyrics

TOPers, did we have songs in our hearts this week?

If you don't see Mr. Linky, leave your link in the comments. He was working there for a while, but he seems to be down again.

As far as I'm aware Mr Linky is having major problems and is not operating at all at the moment.

You'll find my poem here.

I just wrote a draft for another song for my EP. Rain is still dismal. The sky acted as though we were going to get some sun then cluttered more. I haven't figured out a title. It's a draft, anyway. If I had to name it, I would say 'Repose.'

Chorus:
My hands cradled round the butterfly
yet let her fly away,
her travels took light from the sky
and left behind dismay.

I'm not sure when I'm going to sing it. I'll figure out whatever when I get a chord progression.

This sunshine state has blanketed
with clouds as thick as skulls.
They drink and drink with no repose;
with each, their color dulls.

Their sober state drifted with sighs
that shook the restless leaves;
soon, they'll bow down to their knees,
then bend forward and heave.

Their jaws will snap and drool their fill
with hands clutched on the next--
once you feel their weight has spilled
they crack open their necks.

Disjointed limbs break off and fall
and hit the ground with bubbling splats.
When one does dry, another spits
to wet the fur of crossing cats.
