Request For Poems

It's time to put up or … read what the other poets have put up. In comments to this posting leave a link to your poem inspired by the 'Akahito' prompt, or any other poem, or any other way to get there, and one way to get there is to use the Linky widget included with this posting.

Saturday night, right after 'Hockey Night in Canada' (go Oilers), I'll put up the next Totally Optional Prompt. And, thanks for your support.

I've promised myself that if I ever meet The Woman with a Broken Down SUV at the Paria River again I'll at least get her name.

My contribution is posted here

I'm looking forward to seeing where this prompt has taken the rest of you!

I began with The pantry because salty insiration wasn't forthcoming; then it came, and gave me The grotto of Chehrabad.

I love the salt girl poem. I thought about it all day yesterday. It made me first want to write something with a metaphor or simile, but somehow I ended up with something based on the sense of touch instead.

Something about the seashore that precipitates thoughts compressed scales of interaction.

Thanks to a friend whose email and the prompt inspired my hypothetical.

Congratulations on the new site -- and thank you for telling me about it. I loved the prompt and I have feeling we'll all be spinning in different directions.

This prompt really spoke to me, and I did a very sensual take on it:

And did I mention how excited I am that someone took up the torch for PT?

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to come back by and say that after managing to read about half of the poems linked so far, I am absolutely astounded by the quality and variety of response to this prompt - what an accomplished collection of poets have already arrived! One poem after another has taken my breath away. Lovely work, all of you, and especially to Mike & Tiel for creating this community!

I am very happy to have a prompt to think about during the week and an impetus to get something written by Thursday.

My poem is Lean in close, let me tell you a tale

Comments/critique welcome!

I am so sorry to have missed the first prompt. I did not know that you meant and therefore did not understand any of it.
Also I can not find your site and create a link. If you could email me the link, I will be able to use your button..By the number of poems posted, I seem to the only one that did not know what direction to take. I know how to make a link and did so for PT. I must be doing something wrong because when I hit your button, I receive an error (server not found) Could please help me to find next Thursday's prompt and how to link to your site. I am afraid I am a Blogger dummy( this is way I stay on Blogspot.com.

Hope you can lead the way-love-Melanie-bd

Yes, sorry, I know this is a bit late. Turns out all I had to do to get wifi access was go to the hotel lobby. Would have been nice to know that earlier, rather than about 24 hours before leaving. Anyway:
