Request For Poems: Places

TOPers, where'd we go this week?

I think I anchor a lot of my poems to one place or another. This was a nice way for me to think about a place I like to be - although I don't get there often enough

My poetic thoughts are anchored in the UK at the moment, after a month long trip there. I have left my permalink, rather than my blog URL, I hope that's the right thing to do.

I actually did the prompt this week!

Hmm, the link didn't work...

Well, my writing went in different directions today so I've decided to share a poem from a couple of weeks ago that is a good example of place in my writing: Where Others Were

I chickened out last week, since I'm not especially good at writing evocative poems. But I'm glad to be back this week with a place-centric limerick. Thanks as always for the inspiration.

To Khotsofalang, the face of the hills

Khotsofalang is Sesotho for "Be Satisfied," and it is also the name of my older brother.

We all have dark places we go or get stuck in from time to time. This poem is about mine

Hi folks -- I've been reading a small handful of TOP poems recently, and this week decided to dive in. Thanks for being here.

The lake next to my workplace provides me with endless opportunities for musing and rejuvenation of the spirit.

I like writing with it's feet on the ground. In an extended way, I'm moving right now, which makes writing about place that much more vital.

Two apologies for the two links that didn't work! I'm still figuring out how to leave a link to just that poem and not my blog in general. It took me a couple tries but finally I had success!

I'm still confused about how to leave a link in the comments, though. If I type in my URL, it doesn't get highlighted or underlined. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Linda: If you want to make your own link, this is how you format it:
[a href="full url goes here"]What you want the link to say goes here[/a]
Just replace the square brackets with angle brackets < >.

Late and totally un-placed, but it's all I've got this week :-)

Thanks, Tom! I'll practice that. I did try it last night but kept getting a message that said my tag was broken but I'm persistent! Ah, computers! Hate 'em. Love'em! ~Linda
